Resolution approving a Three-Year Harbor Statement of Intentions for the Port of Milwaukee.
Analysis
The Wisconsin Dept. of Transportation, in accord with State Statute, requires a Statement of Project Intentions from Local units of government intending to apply for Federal and/or State aid for harbor-related work of benefit to commercial transportation within the next three years.
Body
Whereas, The Three-Year Harbor Statement of Intentions attached to this resolution describes proposed improvements which are in the best interest of the Port of Milwaukee, City of Milwaukee; and
 
Whereas, The Port of Milwaukee has carefully reviewed the estimated project costs, funding sources, physical location and alternatives to the proposed projects; and
 
Whereas, This Three-Year Harbor Statement of Intentions is used by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for planning purposes only and is not a petition for Federal and/or State aid; and
 
Whereas, The Board of Harbor Commissioners approved the Three-Year Harbor Statement of Intentions at its meeting on February 13, 2014; and
 
Whereas, All projects included in the three-year program are contingent upon future Common Council approval of each project prior to proceeding with the project; now, therefore be it
 
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that said Common Council hereby ratifies and approves the Three-Year Harbor Statement of Intentions by and through its Board of Harbor Commissioners.
