Analysis
This ordinance increases the amount charged for both Basic Life Support and Basic Life Support - Emergency ambulance conveyances for 2 categories of patients established by the code: residents and non-residents. The increases are as follows:

1. For residents, a 2.9% increase from $410 to $422.

2. For non-residents, a 3.0% increase from $474 to $488.

In addition, this ordinance increases the amount charged for mileage. Mileage is defined as the distance traveled with the patient in the ambulance from point of origin to destination. The rate, for both residents and non-residents is increased from $12.00 per mile to $12.60 per mile. The new rate reflects a 5% increase.
Body
The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:

Part 1. Section 75-15-14-c-1 to 3 of the code is amended to read:

75-15. Ambulance Certification Regulations.

14. DETERMINING RATES BILLED BY PRIVATE SECTOR PROVIDERS.

c-1. For patients who are residents of the city of Milwaukee, for basic life support, [[$410]]>>$422<< and, for basic life support-emergency, [[$410]]>>$422<<. When patients require treatment without transport, a $75 basic life support non-transport fee applies.

c-2. For patients who are not residents of the city of Milwaukee, for basic life support, [[$474]]>>$488<< and, for basic life support - emergency, [[$474]]>>$488<<. When patients require treatment without transport, a $125 basic life support non-transport fee applies.

c-3. In addition to the charges provided in subds. c-1 and 2, a charge of [[$12]]>>$12.60<< per mile shall be assessed for mileage, mileage to be defined as the distance traveled with the patient in the ambulance from the point of patient origin to destination.
