Analysis
This substitute resolution appropriates $11,000 from the Economic Development Committee Fund Special Purpose Account to fund City participation in both the 2008 State Regional and International Spring Conventions of the International Council of Shopping Centers to facilitate neighborhood and retail development in the City of Milwaukee.
Body
Whereas, The Economic Development Committee Fund is to be used for purposes of promoting the City of Milwaukee’s (“City”) economic development programs and attracting new industry to the City; and

Whereas, The 2008 State Regional International Council of Shopping Centers Spring Convention will be held in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on April 16th and 17th and the 2008 International Council of Shopping Centers Spring Convention will be held in Las Vegas, Nevada on May 18th through May 21st; and

Whereas, There will be four people attending the State Regional Convention and four people attending the International Convention; and

Whereas, Contacts made at these conventions may lead to future retail projects in the City; and

Whereas, The appropriation of $11,000 for attendance and associated costs both at the State Regional and International Spring Conventions will be beneficial to the City; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that $11,000 is appropriated from the Economic Development Committee Fund Special Purpose Account No. 0001-1310-S123-006300 to a separate Budget Line Account No. 0001-1910-S123-006300 for attendance at both the 2008 State Regional and International Spring Con...
