Analysis

This resolution appropriates $1,080 from the Economic Development Committee Fund special purposes account to fund city participation in the 2008 State International Council of Shopping Centers Spring Convention in order to facilitate neighborhood retail development in the City of Milwaukee.

Body

Whereas, The Economic Development Committee Fund is to be used for the purposes of promoting the City’s economic development programs and attracting new industry to the City; and

Whereas, The 2008 State Regional International Council of Shopping Centers Spring Convention will be held in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on April 16^th and 17^th; and

Whereas, It is intended that 4 Common Council members attending the State Regional Convention at $145 per person and the City will participate in a sponsorship of $500; and

Whereas, Contacts made at these conventions may lead to future retail projects in the City of Milwaukee; and

Whereas, The appropriation of $1,080 for attendance and sponsorship costs at the State International Council of Shopping Centers Spring Convention will be beneficial to the city; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that $1,080 is appropriated from the Economic Development Committee Fund special purpose account, 0001-1310-S123-006300, to a separate Budget Line (Account No. 0001-1910-S123-006300) for attendance at the 2008 State International Council of Shopping Centers Spring Convention for the purposes outlined herein.
