Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Pubic Works connect existing fiber and provide network connectivity at the expense of and for the use and benefit of the Wisconsin Center District and Milwaukee Public Television, while providing telecommunication services for City purposes.

Body
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee has installed fiber to the Wisconsin Center District for the use of VISIT Milwaukee and has also installed fiber for the use of Milwaukee Public Television/Milwaukee Area Technical College; and
Whereas, Wisconsin Center District has requested a connection between Milwaukee Public Television and their facility over existing City of Milwaukee fiber in order to enable the Wisconsin Center District to offer Satellite services in their Video Production Area; and
Whereas, The ability to offer Satellite services is expected to bring in more conventions and other events to the Wisconsin Center District facilities, bringing more visitors to Milwaukee and enhancing its image; and

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee can provide fiber capacity and network connectivity from Wisconsin Center District to Milwaukee Public Television at a minimal costs; and

Whereas, The City will be fully compensated for the cost of connecting these facilities; and
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee can play an important role in enhancing tourism and economic development and supporting cultural exchange in the community; now, therefore, be it
