Title
Ordinance creating the Milwaukee River Greenway Corridor Interim Study Overlay Zone, generally located along the Milwaukee River between the former North Avenue Dam and the City of Milwaukee Limits at Silver Spring Drive, in the 1st, 3rd and 6th Aldermanic Districts.
Analysis
This ordinance establishes an overlay district that allows for discretionary review of development proposals in areas where changes in zoning provisions are contemplated. The overlay district also would serve to protect the banks, floodplain, primary environmental corridor, greenway and bluffs of the Milwaukee River.

Resolved, That the Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, do ordain as follows:
Part 1. There is added to the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances a new section to read as follows:
Section 295-1005.0003. The zoning map is amended to establish the Interim Study Overlay Zone (IS) for the area bounded by the City of Milwaukee Limits commencing at the south line of East Capitol Drive, the south line of East Providence Avenue, the west line of North Newhall Street, the south line of East Newport Avenue, a line 134 feet East and parallel to the east line of North Newhall Street, the south line of East Locust Street, the east line of Government Lot 5, a line 420.55 feet South and parallel to the south line of East Locust Street, the east line of North Bartlett Avenue extended, the south line of East Geneva Place, the west line of North Oakland Avenue, the north line of East Riverside Place, the west line of North Bartlett Avenue, the north line of East Park Place, the east line of the former railroad right-of-way, the west line of North Newhall Street extended, the north line of East North Avenue, the west line of North Cambridge Avenue, the north line of East Boylston Street extended to North Riverwalk Way, North Riverwalk Way extended, the east line of North Riverboat Road, t...
