Whereas, the plaintiffs, Options for Community Growth, Inc., Humboldt House, LLC, Larry Butler and REM Wisconsin II, Inc. have filed a lawsuit against the City of Milwaukee seeking an unspecified amount of damages and attorney’s fees; and
Whereas, the plaintiffs have agreed to settle the lawsuit in the amount of $194,000, in addition to an agreement to amend certain city ordinances relating to the distance regulation of community living arrangements, a legislative act that has already been adopted by the City of Milwaukee; and
Whereas, the City Attorney recommends and the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee deems it is expeditious and just to pay this lawsuit; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the proper city officers be and are hereby authorized and directed to issue a city check in the amount of $194,000, payable to the order of the Trust Account of Robert Theine Pledl, in full and final settlement of said claim, upon receipt of a Release Of Claims, Approved as to form and execution by the City Attorney, City of Milwaukee charged to Account No. 006300.
