Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works to execute a project agreement for a State Let Transportation Enhancement Project with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for the improvement of North 27th Street between West Highland Boulevard and West St. Paul Avenue with an estimated total cost of the project of $1,031,606. The grantor share of this project is estimated to be $825,285, with a City share of $206,321. The total estimated preliminary engineering cost is $160,389.00, with a grantor share of $128,311.00 and a City share of $32,078.00. Approval of construction costs will be in a later resolution.

Whereas, Preliminary approval has been requested and received from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation along with agreements to be executed by the City of Milwaukee for programming and construction of streetscape improvements on North 27th Street between West Highland Boulevard and West St. Paul Avenue with Federal and State aid under the Transportation Enhancements Program; and

Whereas, The North 27th Street streetscape project is proposed to include widening sidewalks, stamped colored pavement, decorative crosswalks, decorative street lighting and other street amenities; and

Whereas, The State cannot proceed with any project cost overruns and changes in scope of more than five percent without prior Department of Public Works approval; and
