Analysis
This resolution approves the 30th Street Corridor Economic Development Master Plan and amends the Near North Side, Fond du Lac and North, Near West Side and Washington Park Comprehensive Area Plans to include said ED Plan, as part of the City’s Overall Comprehensive Plan, and directs City departments and agencies to work toward implementation of the Plans, as amended.
Body
Whereas, A detailed economic development plan has been prepared, which is titled 30th Street Corridor Economic Development Master Plan (“ED Plan”), a copy of which is attached to this Common Council File; and

Whereas, Recent developments in the 30th Street Corridor (“Corridor”) have necessitated a more refined analysis and updated strategy to further the goals of the Century City initiative and other projects in the Corridor; and

Whereas, The ED plan was created to supplement the City’s existing comprehensive area plans that contain sections of the Corridor to: identify economic sectors best suitable for the Corridor through a detailed market analysis; identify priority sites susceptible to change in the Corridor; determine infrastructure needs; and establish implementation strategies to best achieve economic success in the Corridor; and

Whereas, The creation of the ED Plan involved extensive public outreach, input and cooperation with the public and Corridor stakeholders similar to the public process followed in the development of the City’s 13 comprehensive area plans; and
